This week in stupidity...

  • Didn't anyone tell that racist asshat Louisiana Justice of the Peace who refused to marry an interracial couple that our current President is a product of an interracial marriage? Seriously, that guy and Bobby Jindal make West Virginia look like an paradise compared to Louisiana.
  • Someone needs to tell that corporate stooge Sen. Mary Landrieu that us peons actually pay for Medicare. She's a disgrace to the Democratic Party and to all the people who voted for her. Her allegiance clearly lies with corporate America, well to be fair so does the allegiance of about 90 percent of our Congress.
  • Does it seem callous that I didn't really give a shit about Balloon Boy? Sure if the kid had died, I'd have felt sad but mostly I would have thought, well, we thinned the herd a bit and that's a not a bad thing.
  • McCain-ette, Bush McCain's daughter is sorry she put a picture of her cleavage on Twitter. You know, she's not as sorry as most of us are. I could have gone my whole life without seeing her cleavage but she deprived me of that privilege. Damn her. Damn her eyes!
  • Now that he's been kicked to the curb over his bid to buy into an NFL team Rush is claiming the NFL is a bastion of liberalism. Yeah, right. All those millionaires are just sooooooooo liberal. And those NFL owners, what with the way they raise money and campaign for Republicans, there all big ol' liberals too. If Rush got caught murdering someone he'd claim he was being arrested because he was a conservative.
  • Call me stupid, but I can't wait to see Where the Wild Things Are. They could not have gotten a better director than Spike Jonze to make that film. I remember the first time I heard the book read aloud to me when I was a kid, it made the hair on the back of my neck stand up because I identified with Max so much.
There's a lot more stupid out there but I don't really want to go looking for and highlighting it.

I completely missed the Balloon Boy bs - no idea what that's all about. No need to fill me in. My life feels pretty complete without it.

I felt sad for the kid, then when I heard he was "hiding", I wondered if it was all a stunt. Cynical, but not unfounded.

And yeah, I think "Where the Wild Things Are" will be great fun! Least I hope it will!

Yeah, Balloon Boy was barely a blip on my radar.

Balloon Boy has pointed out the ridiculousness of our 24-hour news cycle, even though that was not his intent.

It's always good to end a list of stupidity with one item of smartidity to show that the universe is indeed balanced.

Say what you want about Meghan McCain, but I'll be damned if I'm going to sit idly by while you disparage her boobies!
