Older men, younger women

If you're thinking of connecting the two major non Republican party sex scandals (Seems weird to say doesn't it? A non Republican party sex scandal.) then think again because Roman Polanski's sex scandal has nothing to do with David Letterman's. What the two men did is as different as night and day. Dave had consensual sex with an adult woman who knew full well what she was doing. Roman Polanski got a 13 year old girl drunk and drugged her in order to have sex with her.

Am I saying what Dave did was right? No. Far from it. He cheated on his partner with a woman who worked for him. But again, that woman was of legal age to be having sex.

Am I saying what Polanski did was wrong? Hell yes. He drugged and raped a 13 year old girl and then he fled the country rather than pay for his crime. I could care less if it was the 1970's, what Polanski did was wrong in any decade. It also does not matter than he went on to make decent films after he drugged and raped her. It matters not a whit that he also has some connection to the Holocaust or that he's European. Wrong is wrong. He should pay for the crime he committed, he copped a plea and he should have been man enough to do his time and pay his debt to society. Although knowing what we now know about star struck southern California juries, if he had taken his chances and gone to trial he'd probably have gotten off scot free and would have been invited to snort coke off the buttocks of the very girl he drugged and raped when he was found to be not guilty by reason of celebrity.

I know the conservative pundits are trying like hell to link these two cases together but they're only doing so to deflect attention from the likes of Sen. Ensign (R-Sleaze City, Nevada) and Gov. Mark 'Hike the Appalachian Trail' Sanford (R-Hypocrisy Carolina). And in case you didn't know the difference between what Dave Letterman did and what those two Republican hypocrites did is that Dave is holding himself publicly accountable for what he did and he's not running away from it like all the Republicans do when they get caught. He's not hiding behind his wife's skirts as he tells us that he begged for forgiveness from Jesus for sticking his dick in someone who wasn't his partner. In other words, he manned up and admitted his affair and he didn't blame the liberal media or the gay agenda for making him do so.

And if Dave's wife divorces him now and takes him to the cleaners, it's her decision. But at least her man had the decency to admit he did wrong without trying to deflect the blame or bring the baby Jesus in to it.

In this day and age when NO ONE takes any responsibility for their actions, the mere fact of Letterman stepping up and admitting his guilt freely gets him a pass in my eyes. Adult woman making adult choices.

Polanski however needs to burn in hell as do those in his 'community' who are supporting him. We could all wish to 'serve our time' in a villa in France.

Men have been sticking their dicks in things for sometime now but at least Dave didn't put his foot in his mouth.

And yeah, Polanski is a rat-bastard deluxe, because if it was my 13 year old girl, I'd be buying a ticket to France to administer my own "justice".

I agree. Anyone that tries to defend Polanski is a scum bag.

I absolutely agree! What Polanski did was awful and he should be made accountable for his stupidity.

Very well said, Dr. M.

The ONLY connection between Polanski and Letterman is that neither of them did their deeds on the tax-payers dime and then try to deny the rights of gays to marry.

I think we can all agree with that!
