After spending most of last spring, summer, and part of our fall either getting our old condo ready for sale, looking for a house, and finally moving (and this past Wednesday was our one year anniversary in our new to us house!), I have become hooked on the house hunting shows on HGTV.
Actually, I really don't care for House Hunters or House Hunters International, but I really dig Property Virgins with this chick:
Sandra is sassy, smart, and she loves selling houses. The episodes I love the most are the ones where she's helping her fellow Canadians buy houses. The couples she works with are always cute as buttons and they are always so grateful when she finds them a suitable home. Yeah, I know it's TV and they don't show the non telegenic couples or the doughy bastards like me, but I really don't care.
But as much as I like Sandra and her virgins, I am really digging this gal
and her show The Property Shop. I saw an episode the other night that made me a fan of hers for life. In the episode she gave a smack down to two greedy children of an older woman who wanted too much for their mother's house and who refused to listen when she told they either needed to slash the price of it or spend a bunch of money to have it fixed. I nearly split my sides laughing when the son of the elderly woman said the home inspector gave them a bad inspection because she was a negative person. That's when my girl Tatiana gave the guy a verbal beat down and brought the greedy guy back to earth.
The real estate agent who guided us through the sale of our old condo and who helped us find our current house was the best ever but if I ever had the chance, I'd let either of these Canadian hotties handle my real estate business. And I'd even consider moving to Canada to make that happen, after all, they do have single payer universal health care up there. And real maple syrup and poutine too.

What's with the Fatal Attraction hair?
I always laugh at House Hunters because most of the people are unrealistic - and International is just wrong...it is always the uber-rich on that one.
I agree good shows.
And me, Canada's got me! And we definitely need you. So come on up and we'll find you a nice house around the corner from zombie central.
Come for the food, stay for the universal health care. (You'll need it after eating poutine! LOL)
I'm not one for House Hunters, but I love getting a glimpse of other places, so I tried watching the International version. It disappointed me -- it did nothing to give me a taste of what those foreign countries were really like.
I also like that feisty Tatiana. Also, "Sell Me" and "Real Estate Intervention" tend to be more realistic, too.
Wow! I had no idea Dee Snyder was into real estate!
