Worst comic book sound effect ever-UPDATED

Fifteen bonus points to anyone who can correctly identify the comic book series this came from.

UPDATE-Good guesses everyone but no one was correct so the points get folded back in to the jackpot which will be given away at a later date. This panel came from a comic book called The Mighty Crusaders which was put out by Archie Adventure Series Comics in the early '80's. Those of you who guessed that is was a Marvel Comics publication were close. It was drawn and edited by Rich Buckler who wrote and drew many a comic book for Marvel. He used to draw the Fantastic Four and one of my favorite characters, the original Deathlok, was an invention of his. Read his bio by clicking here.

  3. In my professional-by-proxy opinion (we just happen to own a comic book store, doncha' know)...

Fantastic Four or some type of Marvel team up.

Jim says there isn't enough information in this panel to be more specific.

    So there you have it.

  5. I think that's the sound my cat makes when he is scratching sand to cover up his poopies in his litter box.

I have no clue what comic that is, could it be the Lizard People?

  6. No clue, but did you hear about the guy who wrote in "Lizard People" on his ballot but filled in the circle for Al Franken? Apparently he was some college kid trying to make a point but when his ballot was tossed out in the recount he looked like a huge dumb ass. He says his intent was to vote for Franken. Thanks for your help, dumb ass Lizard People guy.

  7. The Chuffington Post?

    I am very sorry.

Please don't ban me from your fine blog for that horrible response.

  8. I'm going to say early to mid seventys Spiderman, as I seem to recall him combating a lizard villian at the time.

Regardless, it is from a Marvel comic of some sort, as only Marvel has this kind of style.

And I have just proven what a dork I really am, haven't I?

  14. "Spang" still cracks me up more, although "Chuff" is right up there with the funniest.
