Farewell sir

John Hughes has passed away. I didn't like all of his movies but I did love Sixteen Candles and most of the stuff he wrote for National Lampoon. His impact on people who grew up or came of age in the late '70's and '80's is huge, he will be missed. Go gently into that good night sir.

He will be missed. His flicks were almost documentaries for teens in the early to late 80's.

@ Bradda - Teens in Suburbia. I think that bears mentioning. And yes, I was one of them...

I was sad and shocked to hear of his death. I watched all of his movies back when I was growing up. They played a big part of my teen years.

Yeh, his movies are a visual record of all the things that mattered to me as a teenager. Suddenly I feel very old.
