When the temperature falls below 40F...

...these two CD's go into heavy rotation here at Monkey Central:

I'm not sure why I dig medieval sounding music in the cold months but I do.

  1. My musical tastes don't change this time of year, but my food tastes do! I start craving stews, soups, roasts, and anything in a crock pot.

  2. I have the McKennitt CD too. When the weather gets cold here, I play polka music to stave off the Seasonal Affective Disorder and to keep dancing so my toes don't freeze.

  3. I LOVE Loreena McKennit! She is one of my all-time favourite musicians and I have most of her CDs. She's just absolutely divine!

  4. I recently posted a video of McKennitt's "All Souls Night," as the greatest Halloween song EVAR. I like pretty much all of her albums, but The Visit is right up there at the top.

  5. Loreena McKennitt had, IMO, the most beautiful, haunting voice ever.

I absolutely love her music -- any time of year. :)

  7. I haven't heard Loreena in a loooong time, maybe this is the time to get back in touch. I haven't heard of the Mediaeval Baebes but I hate the way they spell that!

  8. I saw the Mediaeval Babes in concert in Bristol England. At one point, I swear, there was frottage!

  9. I must check these out - alas, I have never heard of either one.

  10. The only time I can handle U2 is when it's cold out. Not sure what that's about.
