We got caught outside in a driving rain shower yesterday at the Virginia Highlands Festival in Abingdon, VA and my digital camera got wet. It won't turn on anymore and I think it's dead.
I took over 4200 photos with it before it died. RIP M425.
Too sad. I've got an old Sony Cybers-shot DSC-050 (2.1 Megapixels!) that's still kicking.
My folks got one for me, I was careless, and it was stolen not long after I received it. And in a fit of guilt I purchased the same model on eBay and passed it off as the same one. I guess I feel less guilty about that somehow.
We dropped ours in the lake and a couple of months later it had dried out and now works just fine again. Some people say to put it in a baggie filled with rice. The rice will absorb the moisture.
Holy Crap! That is a lot of pictures to lose.
ReplyDeleteSorry.
It may start working again after it has dried out for a while.
ReplyDeleteI only lost about 40 pictures. I had downloaded the rest.
ReplyDeleteIt might dry out still... take a blowdryer to it!
ReplyDeleteAh, poor little guy.
ReplyDeleteWhen's the wake?

So, will you enshrine it? That's a lot of pictures for a little camera like that.
ReplyDeleteShoot it out of a cannon like they did with Hunter's ashes!

ReplyDeletewell, it´s all said, wait ´till it´s dry... you can use a hairdryer in cool
ReplyDeleteAs someone who treats her camera like another appendage, I send you my condolences.
ReplyDeleteTry what the folks here have suggested. It might work!
Hmmm. Your camera got wet and won't turn on. When I get turned on, I get wet! That's known to scientists as "The inverse camera-woman phenomenon."
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry for your loss. Perhaps you can console yourself in the knowledge that that little fella lived a full life.
ReplyDeleteOften, when electronic gadgetry gets wet, it shorts out and drains the batteries. A good drying and new batteries might be all it needs.
ReplyDeleteI made you a funeral hotdish.
ReplyDeleteMay he rest in peace.
