RIP Suzanne

Goodbye Suzanne Pleshette, you were a great actress and one of the first brunettes I ever had a crush on. Your voice was one of the sexiest I have ever heard.

I loved you The Bob Newhart Show. I didn't get all the jokes when I first saw it because I was so young but man oh man did I love watching you in it. You'll always have a special place in my heart because of Support Your Local Gunfighter, the movie you made with James Garner. It was the last movie I remember my Dad taking us kids to see before we moved from Detroit. I can remember sitting spellbound in that what seemed to me to be a cavernous movie theatre watching your movie. That film going experience has always stayed with me because I can vividly remember my late father walking us kids to the theatre and because it was the first "grown up," i. e. non animated, non Disney, film I was allowed to see. Not too long after saw this film the theatre where we saw it converted into an X-rated movie house. Every time we went past it after that I always thought of you Suzanne.

I'll always remember you fondly. Goodnight Emily.

  1. She was a stunner, wasn't she?

She was great in a lot of movies. In "Fate Is The Hunter," yet unreleased on DVD, she played a flight attendant who was the sole survivor of a plane crash, and works with investigators to figure out what caused it. She played Steve McQueen's doomed love interest in "Nevada Smith," and was in a lot of episodes of television, from "The Wild, Wild West," to "Colombo."

  5. Yes, very nice tribute. And I hadn't even heard she had died - had to go look up the obituary. So sad, she was only 70. Thanks for posting this.

  7. She was not only beautiful, but she had a very intrieging voice. Very pleasant and matter-of-fact. She did not seem have any pretenses.

  11. I loved the bit when Bob Newhart woke up with Suzanne in their bedroom, saying he had a bad dream that he owned a hotel in Vermont. She was always a good sport for the sake of comedy.
